How To Keep Up Steam While Working Your Ass Off

Over the past month, I have just about tripled my daily workload. At first, it was the second job- then the third and working on writing my book. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love being so busy and productive all of the time, but after a few hours of being on the grind, I get tired.
I'm obviously not the only person that works like this. Right off the bat I can name three people just in my family that run themselves just as hard. We work hard not to simply make money (though that is obviously part of it) but to stay busy, busy, busy being a badass.
All of you busy bees go, go, go until you just have to sit down and take a moment. So, what do you do when you have to get back up?
1. Love your work: This comes before everything else. If you don't love what you do- or even like it- Keeping yourself going may get to be pretty excruciating. What's the point of sitting at your desk and slaving away all day doing something that you don't like? You may get a fat paycheck- or maybe a sub par paycheck- but you also spend years of your life being miserable, sacrifice your happiness and watch better, more satisfying opportunities pass you by. Do what you do in life because it adds something good to your life- always !
2. Don't skip your breaks: (Please excuse the Friends reference)
Sometimes we get totally focused on what we're doing, lose track of time and neglect to rest our minds- and that's okay. The caveat here though is not to sacrifice your breaks for productivity. You can put them off a bit, but your mind and body are always going to appreciate the room to breathe a bit. If your job won't give you a break, either leave or tell them that you refuse to be slavedriven- it's inhumane to work for eight consistent hours.
3. Find Your Motivational Mantra: When I'm feeling tired or unmotivated, I always remind myself "wait, I'm not done- I'm not going to stay here and feel this way because I'm a motherfucking badass bitch and badass bitches get shit DONE." The funny thing is that no matter how ridiculous it may sound at first, the more you say it, the more real it beco
4. Rest Then Revive: It is so important to get a decent amount of sleep every night. It's obviously the healthiest option, but it also gives your brain time to refresh- prompting new circumstances, new ideas and perspectives that you could have been missing because you were too tired to focus on them. After you wake up, you've gotta find a way to boost your energy right from the jump! Everyone has their own routines that help them to prepare for their day- I personally have let caffeine help me out a bit. I feel that I'm a generally energetic person most of the time, but the one time out of ten that I'm not, caffeine helps to perk me up and put me in a good, helpful rhythm.
5. Make Time To Unwind: It's one thing to binge watch a television show for hours on end- but taking the time to sit down and let your brain relax for an hour or so isn't a bad thing. In fact, I find that watching an episode of Supernatural after a super long day helps me to unwind and disconnect just enough to get back my sanity.
6. Talk to Loved Ones: It's super important to have people that you can talk to- whether going through good times or bad. I've made it a habit to call either my mom, dad or boyfriend (Ben <3 ) every day after I get out of work, so I can see what they're up to and talk to them about our days. If you don't think that you have people to talk to, look harder. Try talking to someone that you didn't think that you could open up to before and just see what happens.
7. Exercise In The Early Morning: I know, it sounds crazy but I worked out at 5 am this morning and just feel so incredible. Even a five minute workout can help reduce anxiety, increase mental productivity, boost your immune system, and get you to sleep easier at the end of the day. Basically, you get to wake up, work out and become damn near invincible for the whole rest of the day.
Even if you have engraved "I can't because..." into your brain, trust me- you can. You can do absolutely anything that you are willing to work for. You may have to ease into it, but once you get the ball rolling, all you have to do is run off with it. Which is worth more to you, rewards or excuses? Stop defending your weaknesses. How hard are you willing to go to get the life of your dreams? That determines your rate of success. :)
