A Very Merry, Comfortably Cramped Christmas

Happy Holidays everyone! I know I totally went MIA again and I apologize- I've just been so happy to be back in the Bay Area! I flew in on December 23rd and wanted to spend my 10 days giving all of my time and attention to my friends, my family and my love.

I hope that everyone had an absolutely wonderful holiday! This Christmas was particularly special for me because it was the first that I was able to spend with both of my parents and all three of my brothers. My dad invited my mom and all of my brothers to join us in his apartment- it was nine people sleeping, mingling and dining in a two bedroom apartment. It was indeed crazy and a bit hectic, but only in the best possible way.

Now, our holiday wasn't necessarily big in terms of space or in the number of gifts given- but the amount of love in that apartment that day was more than I've felt in a long time. Everyone was just so merry, bright and so happy to be with one another (even after being woken up at 6 a.m.). My bros and I got into an intense, indoor Nerf war (with a few parent casualties) and bonded so much more than we have in a long time.

After the parents got to nap, we made our way to dinner. It took 10-15 minutes for everyone to actually eat. Space was tight, drinks were knocked over and there was even a glass explosion; once we all got to eat together, dinner was worth the production.

I guess that the message beneath the text in this post is as cheesy as I'm sure you're expecting: The quality of a Christmas is not determined by the quantity of gifts beneath the tree or even on the vastness of your home; it is determined by the quality of time that you spend with quality people. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful Christmas an I am immensely thankful for the memories that were made that day.

(And Bless The Cook!)
