Bet You Wouldn't Have Guessed.. a Poem

Hey guys, so I know that I already posted today but I'm excited to share something that I wrote with you. I haven't written poetry since I had my last website, which has been about a year, but today I did. I hope that you like it. 

Bet You Wouldn't Have Guessed 

I still remember 

Being hit on as a joke 

More than once, I'll admit 

It was normal back then 

I wasn't who everyone wanted 

I wasn't who anyone wanted 

That was back then, anyway 

I was then her 

I am now me. 

For reasons unknown to you 

I'm a lady you never expected me to be 

I'm blissful, in love

Passionate and driven 

You can stand in the road 

And still won't stop me. 

You probably ponder 

Why I bother to linger 

On tears of past years. 

The truth-

I don't 

Just thought I'd let you shithead preteens  know 

That I've stepped up and now 

I'm running the show.
