3 Meditation Tactics That Will Change Your Morning Routine ForEVER

Meditation is an instant fix for anyone looking to shift their attitude and quality of life. We've heard it from therapists, we've heard it from literally every single Self Help Guru and spiritual leader and we've seen artsy "boho girls" doing it while sporting their (insert hippie clothing line) yoga pants and tassel tops. Based on all of this it must at least be somewhat effective, right?
Though it may seem like a mainstream fad, meditation truly is effective. Within a few days of meditating for just ten minutes every morning, I've already noticed a few things:
1. I'm more energized and focused throughout the day.
2. My workouts are more powerful and thorough.
3. I smile more genuinely.
4. My productivity has increased.
5. I focus more on what's happening in the present moment.
These, of course, are only the beginning benefits that I've fished off the surface.
If you want to center yourself and gain control of your mind, emotions and overall well-being, check out these meditation tactics. Try one or more of these while seated comfortably to see if you can master your mind and body.
Tactic 1. Stop and Simply Sit in Silence: Sometimes even the most peaceful and quiet "focus tracks" can be interrupting to someone trying to cool their thoughts. This tactic is good for people that get distracted easily, otherwise it is a bit more advanced. Take a few minutes to get comfy, chill out and either think out your intentions for the day or keep mentally silent. Don't be discouraged if you can't shut everything up all at once- even the most peaceful people dealt with chatter brains.
Tactic 2. Hum/Howl to Your Hearts' Content: If you resonate with yourself musically, check this out. Chill out and chant your favorite vowel sounds and notes. Focus intently on staying on the note and maintaining the sound until you feel yourself calling on a new one. This can be done to background music or in silence. The most important part of this practice is to do it when no one is around to interrupt you. Some people won't get it, and it can sound rather silly if you're hearing it separately from the soul-touching sensations.
3. Get a Guide: You've probably seen this in the yoga unit during middle or high school P.E. Back when our teachers thought that they could get a bunch of teenagers to be vulnerable and open in a room full of their peers.
For real this time: find a YouTube video or set of meditation disks to guide you through the practice. These guides will suggest that you do things like: set your intentions, relax the muscles in your face, release your past pain and anguish, etc.
I highly suggest Juliana & Mark's channel: Boho Beautiful on YouTube- all of their videos take place in gorgeous, natural worldly gems and are accompanied with wonderful, calm guidance.
I hope that you will try out these tactics and find one that truly touches the essence of your being. We are all meant to find peace and happiness- before coming from the outside, it must first start from within.
