Declutter your home, declutter your life.

Have you ever walked around your home and realized how much shit you have that you don't even use? A backup blender that's taking up space in your garage, or camping gear that you haven't used in ten years? Knick knacks that you don't even like but keep around because they were gifted to you?

Maybe it's time to get rid of some shit. When I made the decision to drive back to California, I realized that I have quite a bit of things. It's easy to acknowledge and brood on how much we don't have, but often we look right over how much we have that we don't even need.

If you can look at a piece of clothing or a utility and honestly say that you love and use something, it's safe.

If you hesitate or justify just get rid of it.

Do you have a dress that you think is cute but never wear?

Get rid of it,

Do you have books that you will never read again?

Get rid of them.

Burnt out candles?

Get rid of them.

The number one rule in all of this is to be ruthless but fair.

Don't get rid of things that you actually use/need/love, but don't cling to things that have no real purpose in your life.

This applies to things that you have to do as well.

Sarah Knight, author of The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck calls this a "fuck budget". Decide what you own, what you have to do that you actually give a fuck about. Stop holding on to and being a part of bullshit that you don't care about or have use for, then you can make more room/ time for things that you actually give a fuck about.

Declutter your mental/physical space, Declutter your life.
