Millennials- Be/Have What You Want NOW Rather Than Later

The future is always going to be just that. It will always be ahead, always unreachable and unpredictable.

People across all generations have taken this for granted. It's the reason that your project that is "due in a month" is often put off and forgotten about until the last week or even the last day. It is the reason that most teenagers say that they'll "get their lives together when they're thirty", then turn thirty and have an early midlife crisis.

It's become trendy to indirectly distance ourselves from success- therefore leaving it out of sight and out of mind.

During this time of party, blurred focus and/or harder (not smarter) work, we get so wrapped up in what we are doing that we forget about the empty promises that we made to ourselves when we were just starting high school, or just turning eighteen.

Of course, everyone gets off course. Everyone leads themselves astray from their paths. Some go farther than others and end up either forgetting or having to reinvent their values altogether. In order to avoid this and promote as much success as possible (even when you're not totally focused) it's important to do something everyday that reflects who you are.

If you want to be a writer, but "don't have any time" for it, set aside a spot of time every day to write a page, or a brief journal entry. If you want to be an artist- sketch for a half an hour every night. Finish a project every week or every month. You can set reasonable time frames, but in order to stay focused you have to practice your passion or you're sacrificing your purpose and sense of fulfillment.

Your dreams and desires don't have to stay out of reach- but they will if you don't get up and go chase them.
