We'd only been together for a year at this point, so cute <3

What to write when there's no inspiration? Well that's a tough one. It's kind of like throwing a ball and not having anyone to catch it or getting in your car and driving to God knows where. There's no guidance, no pointers and no reassurance that you'll ever got to somewhere meaningful.

It's been a few days since I've written anything that I liked- since I've written much at all. It's just so hard to get yourself in the mood to create when you feel like there just isn't anything to create.

So, instead of writing something inspiring or moving, I'll just tell you the story of Benjamin and my first date.

I know, what a duck.

Let me just tell you right now, this is not your average written love story. Benjamin and I are so in love and after two years and doing long distance for a total of 9 months, we are stronger than ever- but it took a lot of mistakes, pain and growth to get here. Honestly, the perfect analogy for our relationship is our first date. First of all, we couldn’t figure out where to go because both of us were in high school with no jobs and little willy nilly money from our parents. Finally, we settled on going to see a movie because his brother gave him some movie tickets or something. Details, who needs 'em? At least I remember all of the main things, like what I thought and felt. This sounds dumb, but I'm really bad at remembering visuals- I remember vibes and thoughts. So, Benjamin can tell me what I wore on our first date, but I have no fucking clue what either of us was wearing. This is great because he reminds me of all of the useless filler bullshit, but SUCKS when I ask him how he felt in a moment. I'll be like "Baby, do you remember what you were thinking when we kissed on prom night?) and he'll be like, "babe, I don't remember." I'll ask him to try and he asks "I've always loved you baby, isn't that enough?' Then I'm like "well no because that isn't interesting for me to use in my writing." Then he just tells me that he likes my boobs and we're on our way.

As I was saying, we decided to go to the movies together to see Dr. Strange. I was so excited to go on my first real date since swearing off the "hoe life" and I was ready to have a baller time with this geeky, muscly choir guy that I swore I wasn't going to kiss on the first date. Then, something bad happened. I'm going to tell you, but you have to promise to believe me, because I swear that this is true. The night before our date, my dad was at a Christmas work party at a bowling alley with his (at the time) girlfriend. Well, during the party, someone decided that they didn't like the way the guy by the curb was looking at him, so he drove by and shot him. This caused a lot to happen, but long story short, my dad's car got roped into the crime scene so he had to take his girlfriends' car home.

Try explaining that to a guy on your first date- puts caution tape all over everything!

So, my dad ran to get his car and I waited. I got to the date about twenty or thirty minutes late so we missed the movie, and to make it worse I ran into my middle school boyfriend as I was walking up to Ben. So, I walked up to Ben talking to a guy that I obviously know really well- probably looked like we were hanging out- I have this outlandish idea to explain my tardiness, and we have missed our movie. Well, shit.
